When you r like idle with nothing much to do around,it better to have few short term goals. It helps to spice up ure life and also soothes ure self confidence.

Mine were like two:

1)To learn swimming and gain proficiency in it..dantaka dankataka !!! i have not become like an expert in it, but can swim decently..Can do free style, backward stroke, breast stroke Gonna blog my experience on swimming.

2) Finished up with my SCWCD.(Sun certification for Web component Developer)
Cleared it with 94% .Clap Clap Clap !!!

So now again living an aimless life but not for long
so have set another 2 goals.na actually 3.the third one being not to discontinue blogging. The first two shall not disclose it ! Ones I am done shall blog on it..

What is photography actually about ?

They say photography is an art, a creative activity ? Is it ?
I had spent almost a month trying to go through various books and online tutorials on photography..I still haven't implemented the learning in vast. But learnt about few terms/jargons about shutter speed, focal length, view finder, exposure,Aperture ,light etc etc...

I tried taking out few pics .They seemed ok not great though but then I bumped into few online tools/software to enhance your photographs. A simple e.g being Piknic.Any1 who has a Flickr account gets a partial access to this software. You can change the shades of your photo, intensify it and do feasible amount of r&d on it.Then there are Adobe Photoshop as well.
If you have such tools then what is photography all about?

I got a Nikon D5000 which cost me a lol as it had come with all the lenses and stuff and its pretty amazing.. You have settings for almost all the scenarios, sunset, sunrise, dawn, dusk, silhouette, indoor ,outdoor, and different seasons, pets , parties etc just to name a few.
I have this cam since about 3 months and still have not able to get the complete technical knowledge of this cam.. Sometimes I feel like doing justice to this cam by exploring it completely and then using it in taking out pics...
But then again I feel if I know in and out of this D5000 and use all the features as expected while taking out pics ,I know it shall give an astounding result. Thats it ! Is this photography ???
just knowing all about your cam features and using it appropriately ?

I could boil it down to one reason that being :
Its about taking the right picture at the right place and at the right time.

Photography is about creativity. Creativity about not how well u take the photographs but creativity about the right situation/scenario that u are able to capture.

That just my thought as of now..It might change tomorrow when I dwell more into this field. No offence meant to any1.I myself am so trying a lot to know more this activity.Have plans to enroll in photography classes to actually know more about this art:)

Y is it so ?

Y is it so that every time u hog down a pizza u resolve that for next 1 month u shall not go anywhere near the periphery of pizza obviously for the fear of putting on.

everytime u munch a burger u repeat the same oath pretty convincingly .Same goes with chocolates ice cream ,pastries, cakes,cookies.. etc

u always end up thinking ahh !!!! just eating ones a week is not problem n that u shall still be in shape..What harm cud a delicious pizza with extra cheese and 10 toppings could possibly do...

little do v realize that all the cheese and sugar simply slides down our thighs, butt n tummy :(
A line from my favorite serial friends "A moment on the lips forever on the hips"
hmmmm.... very true indeed.

All's fine with u . ure jeans fits u well,u looked good in shorts & skirts and were able to carry out any outfit with grace and not looking slutty .
And then

Boooooommmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!!

one morning most likely on a weekend wen u wake up after having lotsa junk food plus colas the previous night, u suddenly seize to recognise the face & body u c in the mirror...
Well thats the fatty u..
then u start scrutinizing each n every part of ur body and cursing anything n everything in this world except u & ure lousy habits of eating & lifestyle ..

Well this is my story too :)

The truth now has sunk into me..that
1)"I am not 18 anymore to eat anything and still remain in shape"
2)" to stop eating like pig and start eating like a lady"

Now starts my hectic schedule of dieting and exercise agn...
If only i would have eaten 1 pizza a month instead of twice a week and if only i would have gulped colas ones in 2 weeks instead of daily and if only i would have included at-least 15 mins of daily exercise in my free routine instead of 1 hr that I am doing now...

Damm this world and every body !

An obese, depressed, lazy woman

P.S : Don't be shocked if my future blogs are on health & fitness :)

My travelogue which didn't win in the contest conducted by my company :(

My trip to Brussles and Brugge.

Europe is considered as one of the most exciting places to tour and I was lucky enough to be parcelled to Germany for an onsite assignment for about an year.Among all the places that I had visited the most memorable one was my trip to Brussels and Brugge. It took me a long long time to shrug of those captivating sceneries that had clung to me. So thought to pen down this invirogating trip. We started off for Brussels on an early Saturday morning in ICE(an express train) and reached in about 3.5 hours, We checked in a hotel ,got refreshed and stepped out to explore Brussels which had ample of places to show us but we had our limited time frame of one day. We visited the Botanical gardens, TinTin Museum,The Grand Place which is the central square of Brussels, dominated by the magnificent Town Hall and all along my camera was in a shooting spree. We strolled through the open-air markets which were selling different kinds of beers, handicrafts and uncountable varieties of Belgium chocolates which I managed to gulp down the choclates but later stopped as I grew worried about the consequences of over eating and that too of choclates!!!!!!! We noticed the hawkers selling posters, statues, paintings of a small boy peeing and found it hilarious and asked one of the shop fellas about it .He murmered something in French and showed us a direction.which led to the corner of a street and we found a tiny statue of the same boy peeing in the fountain basin. It was the famous ” Manneken Pis” The wardrobe of Mannekin Pis has over 760 outfits including our Indian attire that is a dhothi-kurta. By noon we were completely famished and discoverd an Indian restaurant and ordered rotis and butter chicken which if served in India, we would have gone to the extent of suing the restaurant manager for serving such a crap but the same when served there, we simply hogged them down and it did comfort our tastebuds and we resumed our journey and covered the next points in a haste due to lack of time and almost by crawling due to depletion of energy. We paused briefly at St.Michel Cathedral,The Royal Museum, Mini Europe and lastly covered “The Atomium ”,by the end of which I felt like a zombie who had managed to escape from its grave.Late evening we returned back to the hotel ate and slept like a log and didn’t stir a bit till morning.

The next morning we started out for Brugge. We explored this exquisite town, which was still not much tampered , was unspoilt and untouched . We visited “Our Lady Church”, the Market Square, and the Lake of Love ( Minnewater). We voted for a boat tour through the canals and the guide explained us the history of the entire Brugge. This was the most mesmerizing and romantic spot of the entire trip.I was completely spellbound looking at the beauty of the canals, the water and the greenary that surrounded as it . I simply drank in the sceneric beauty of Brugge.

Well !!! as all good things come to an end , so did our trip and we returned back to Duesseldorf the same night. The entire tour was like a hypnotic spell and was a life enhancing , exhilarating and a rejuvenating experience.

Chain reaction of H4 visa

Please Note :: This blog might seem too much exaggerated to some of you guys but please bear in mind that this has been written by a person who has reached a height of boredom J and was just about to cross the line of sanity.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A typical adamant person who has always been over demanding in ever relationship with the ability of being highly independent, life would definitely seem like living in the Alcatraz prison when she’s on an H4 /dependant visa.

Dependant visa ---- well never knew I had to live up to each and every letter of this word so literally each and everyday .

Life is so monotonous, Life is boring, life is dull, life is unfair, and life is highly frustrating &depressing. In short Life simply sucks!!!!!!

It sucks because u r dependant right from buying a carton of milk to financial aid. It sucks because you simply cant even step out of the house if you don’t know how to drive, it sucks because u r idle all day and u know that that u just hate being idle, it sucks because one fine day you feel like to get back to ure routine s/w job and then realize that you cannot. And it sucks coz slowly you feel that you r losing your own identity and now being referred as Mrs… instead of ure first name. It sucks because life suddenly seems so pointless... and it sucks and sucks and sucks ……

The punishment is multiplied by a 1000 times when a working lady has to leave her job to join her spouse on a dependant visa just to live with her hubby.I guess ladies with H4 visa shall definitely relate to me.

A point had come where in I got bored of with all the sulking and frowning and then for a change thought to make my life interesting & start over ones again.

The key to the end of my mothballed life just lied in my attitude & taking things positively.

My attitude to take this change positively and try to quickly and efficaciously blend in this new life of a home maker (Temporary thou) had become more of a necessity rather an option because I realized that my life shall be full of the above crap as long I look at it as a crap.

To start with I have started probing in the field of cooking— My menu initially consisted of bread , toast, omelette, maggie, coffe& Tea.And now my menu has drastically intensified in the number of items with different sections of starters, soups, main course and desserts to name a few J Well chill!!!!!!!! My food taste better too...

U know what I fear now!!!!!!!!!!! What if an s/w professional like me ends up being a la sanjay kapoor- the chef!

Cut it out!!!

Well !! coming to my freedom of going out and doing things on my own rather than being dependant has curbed, so I have enrolled myself in driving classes .I have never waited for anything in my life with so much devotion as I am waiting for driver's licence coz that means I am free from the Alcatraz prison J

Thirdly coming to keep myself occupied and to add value to myself and not make my brain go rusted and keep my thinking cells active , I have started dwelling into photography. It was a childhood hobby which got extinct (just like the dinosaurors) in my college days and now suddenly has re-surfaced again. Luckily got a Nikon D5000 digi cam so very soon you could find few pics uploaded in here.

Well after all this still if I do have time left then may be I could finish few of my java certifications which would just be an added advantage in my resume.

In a nut shell when I turn back and take a look at my life I shouldn’t regret for not making up for most of my gettable, inestimable free time J

Amen !
